_______________________________________________________________________REMINDER TO ALL CLUB COACHES: There is NO ENTRY FEE for the 2012 Club Championship at SCYWA State!!! We strongly encourage ALL clubs to enter the competition. Teams should consist of (5) elementary wrestlers, (5) middle school wrestlers and (2) high school wrestlers from high schools in your IMMEDIATE area. Team trophies are presented to the top 3 teams at the conclusion of the Championships. Details are on the 2012 SCYWA State Championship flyer.
_______________________________________________________________________The Bulldog Battle hosted by The Citadel Old Timer's Club will be on board the USS Yorktown at Patriot's Point. Final arrangements are being made and a flyer is posted on the schedule page. Please pay special attention to the Patriots Point parking and entrance fees as these will apply to all attendees.
!!!HOST NEEDED IN THE COLUMBIA AREA!!! We need a host site for the Elementary and Middle School Duals State Championships. Host will need a venue large enough to run 6 mats. Please contact a state representative if interested.
_______________________________________________________________________IMPORTANT NOTE: The upcoming 1st Annual Upperstate and Lowerstate Championships will be used as seeding tournaments for the 2012 SCYWA State Championships. Attendance at these tournaments is NOT required in order to participate at the State Championships however the results from these tournaments will be used to establish seeding for State. Please consult with your coach to determine which qualifier you will need to attend. SCYWA uses the same alignment as the SCHSL so it is based on where your wrestler would attend high school. Being that SCYWA follows the SCHSL rules, and the fact that the 2012 SCYWA State Championship is seeded, we will NOT be wrestling back for true second at State. This adds a degree of importance to the qualifiers!
